Process
Pexco offers state-of-the-art extrusion and multi-extrusion processing technologies backed up by more than 60 engineering and engineering support personnel. In addition to processing, we also have the in-house resources for designing and machining extrusion dies. Pexco maintains six tool and die shops across its continental operations footprint. Our staff engineers are available to optimize materials, design dies, and facilitate processing to meet the most exacting standards.
Across our ten production facilities and almost 1 million square feet of production space, Pexco operates 170 extrusion lines, including 72 2-1/2" extrusion lines, 76 3-1/2" extrusion lines, and 19 smaller lines, twin screw, and 4-1/2" lines. Our smaller lines include sizes down to 1-1/4". We also operate 62 co-extruders that are not used as main extrusion lines. Pexco’s Columbia, S.C., facility also operates six 4-12" sheet lines. Most of our extruders are manufactured by Davis-Standard.
Pexco’s commitment to quality through the use of a range of tools from optical comparators, laser measuring, Romidot impact testers to color spectrophotometers and a highly trained production staff allows us to meet some of the highest quality standards from simple to complex profiles and tubes. When leveraged by our 60+ Kaizen events per year and dedication to LEAN principles, this commitment is continuously strengthened.
Pexco operates three Certified Class 100,000 clean rooms at its facilities in Athol, Mass., and Monterrey and Mexicali, Mexico. These clean rooms are Hepa filtered, temperature and humidity controlled, and Pyrogen tested. They offer de-ionized air and positive air pressure throughout.
